Dil ki veerani ko abaad kare kaun yahan
Khwab sab toot gaye, ab khwab dikhaye kaun yahan

Chaandni raat mein tanha sa safar karta hoon
Teri yaadon ke darya mein bheeg kar marta hoon

Chup rahun to dil jalta hai, bolun to dard barhta hai

Ab to yaadon mein bhi baqi nahi woh parchhaiyan

Log kehte hain ke hum par to koi gham hi nahi aaya

These five couplets are a trip into loneliness, shattered dreams, secret mourning, ghost memories and the mute burden of love. The emptiness of the heart poses the question of who will restore it when all dreams have already been shattered, and moonlit nights have become torturous walks with wet feet covered with memories that erase slowly. Love is a course where no words are spoken, and love and words make the pain even deeper, and time is a thief and slips away stories, even down to the shadows. Smiles have their wounds behind—their pains are so secret that the world thinks no sorrow ever reached the soul. All this emotional scenery is imbued with the same emotional richness and silent poetry of Faiz Ahmad Faiz poetry, where pain is poetry and reminiscence is truth. Similar to Faiz Ahmad Faiz poetry, the author manages to capture the theme of heartbreak, silence, and resilience, and through these lines, we can also observe that the heart of a person breaks, survives, and still hopes in silence.

Gulon mein rang bharay, baad-e-naubahaar chalay
Chale bhi aao ke gulshan ka karobaar chalay

Bol ke lab azaad hain teray
Bol, zubaan ab tak teri hai

ka Maine jaan liya hai ke ishq kya hai

Dil na-umeed to nahi, nakaam hi to hai
Lambi hai gham ki shaam, magar shaam hi to hai

Raat yun dil mein teri khoyi hui yaad aayi
Jaise veerane mein chupke se bahaar aa jaye
